About me and my practice
Im a warm, downtoearth counsellor based in Plymouth, offering support for adults who want to feel more grounded, understood and connected to themselves. My practice is shaped by my work in complex grief, substance use support, and neurodiversityaffirming care, as well as my commitment to creating spaces that feel safe, steady and genuinely human.
Clients often come to me when life feels overwhelming, when old patterns resurface, or when theyre carrying more than they can comfortably hold alone. I dont rush, diagnose or push for quick fixes. Instead, I offer a calm, private space where you can slow down, make sense of your experiences, and explore what you need with compassion and curiosity.
My approach is collaborative and paced gently. I welcome sensory needs, pauses, fidgets, notebooks, and anything that helps you settle. Many of my clients are neurodivergent or suspect they may be, and I work in a way that reduces pressure, avoids jargon, and supports emotional regulation and selfunderstanding.
Alongside weekly sessions, I can offer optional betweensession tools such as grounding practices, reflective prompts and NDfriendly strategies always gentle, never overwhelming. My aim is to help you feel more resourced, more connected to yourself, and more able to navigate whatever life is asking of you.
Experience
My counselling experience is rooted in supporting adults through some of the most overwhelming and tender parts of life. Ive worked within substance use services, complex grief support, and community organisations where people often arrive carrying longterm stress, trauma, or emotional exhaustion. These settings taught me to work slowly, gently and without judgement meeting people exactly where they are.
Alongside this, Ive developed a strong focus on neurodiversityaffirming practice. Many of my clients have ADHD, are autistic, or exploring their neurodivergence for the first time. I support people with emotional regulation, overwhelm, burnout, masking fatigue, relationship patterns, and the impact of growing up misunderstood. My approach is always paced, sensoryaware and grounded in reallife experience.
In private practice, I offer a calm, steady space for adults navigating anxiety, grief, life transitions, identity questions, and the quieter struggles that dont always have a name. I work relationally exploring thoughts, feelings and patterns together, without pressure or clinical jargon.
Across all my roles, my aim has been the same: to create a space where people feel safe enough to slow down, breathe, and explore whats happening beneath the surface. I bring warmth, curiosity and a gentle steadiness to the work, helping clients feel more grounded, more understood, and more connected to themselves.
Qualifications
Im a registered member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (MNCPS Acc.). My core qualification is a Level 4 Diploma in Counselling, with additional training in traumainformed practice, neurodiversityaffirming support, and working with grief and loss.
Ive completed further CPD in areas such as emotional regulation, ADHDinformed counselling, grounding techniques, and supporting clients through overwhelm, burnout and life transitions. My work in community services and bereavement support has shaped a gentle, steady way of working that centres safety, autonomy and reallife experience.
I continue to develop my practice through regular supervision, ongoing training, and reflective work to ensure my approach remains ethical, compassionate and responsive to the needs of each client.
